On the Development and Connotation of Yi jing
in Tang Dynasty Poetry
Abstract:Yijing is one of the original conceptions in the ancient Chinese literature. The theory of poetic conception has achived great development by Tang Dynasty. Wang Changling raised the conception of Jing for the first time in the most prosperous period in Tang Dynasty. He also made some preliminary research in aesthetic characteristics and creative methods of Yijing. The monk poet Jiao Ran did further research of Yijing after Wang Changling and raised a new conception of Qujing. The conception of Qujing emphasizes the coherent connection between Poetic Emotion and Poetic Conception. In the late Tang Dynasty, Si Kongtu developed the theory of poetic conception systematically. He paid more attention to images out of images and scenes out of scenes, and this made the theory of poetic conception more mature.
