What are the characteristics of traditional English teaching concept?
    Autocratic classes. Traditional education pays more attention to teaching, that is feeding, less attention to let the students study actively. Under the influence of it, teachers regard students as containers, which is looked as the method of inputting knowledge. In these classes, teachers are the masters of these students, who say things which the students must do. With the teachers as the center, they control all the process of classroom teaching, where students just are like the robots, receiving orders to do work. These boring and insipid classes always repeat reviewing learned lessons, leading into the new one, explaining and practicing it. During the classes, teachers are the ones who deal with all of problems and various changes. Teaching modes are very monotonous, which cause that the correlation between different lessons are very boring and rigid. Facing these boring classes and insipid teaching methods, students manifest no interest and always feel sleepy.
   Low efficient classes. This class is very common in real teaching, leading from passion into perception, comprehension, expansion and extension, all of these are prearranged well. So to the questions put forward by their teachers, they can do well. While the whole class has a little nervous atmosphere and rhythm, is timesaving and fluent, because teachers are guards who plan the route and whom students do by, there are no students’ own thinking and real communication out of their own mind. These classes look very efficient from the surface, but in fact students’ mistakes are not exposed and revealed, and plentiful resources are not made full use of and produced again. About these, we can say class teaching only touches upon the surface, not the depth, so perfect surface overshadows the real difference and exist of problems. All in all, the efforts teachers and students make are in vain.
    Profitable classes. Public classes, especially preferred classes and demonstration of classes are the stages on which some teachers show themselves. They want to display themselves. Facing the whole class, the teachers are not fair, that is, the attitude they take to the students are not same. They always do good to the good students, because they think the clever students have the potential to improve their grades to bring honorable fame to themselves, not good to the bad students, owning to that according to common sense, bad students are very naughty and don’t like studying and what they can do is disrupt the classroom order and impede the overall progress of the class, so they leave a worse impression on teachers. Why? Because the teachers just want to safeguard their fame. In most time, the purpose of teaching is to want the students to grasp knowledge to have good grades. Profitability causes some worse results. For example, grade is important than process. To education, we should pursue good grade, but to practice, it loses its primary sense. Pay more attention to receiving knowledge, not the formation of ability. Work of school education is to want students to master Chinese ancient civilization to initiate new things and to develop the whole society. But now days, schools emphasize the remembering of knowledge passively, and overlook the process of cognition and ability of exploration of study. Academic development is more important than personality shaping. When we check school and family education, we will find our evaluation eyes at the academy. In our country, the basic purpose of Quality Education is to improve the quality of whole country, that is, the core of Quality Education is to teach student how to be a person and help them form civil behavior. Outer construction is faster than the inner. With the influence of profitability, though our education industry is developing, inner construction don’t keep up with the outer, in another word, the self-improvement of the teachers is very slow, especially, the thought of them is still traditional, which think that grade is everything.
