The Optimized Extraction of Total Flavonoids from
Plantago Asiatica L.
Abstract: Microwave-assisted extraction was used for extracting total flavonoids from Plantago asiatica L.. The content of total flavonoids was determined by NaNO2-AI(NO3)3-NaOH spectrophotomet at 510 nm with rutin as the standard. To optimize the procedure of the extraction of total flavonoids, the working parameters such as extractant concentration, solid-liquid ratio, microwave-heating time and microwave power were investigated by single factor and orthogonal array methods. The results showed that the optimal working parameters were as follows: 75% ethanol, solid-liquid ratio of 1:20, 4 min of microwave heating, microwave thawing power. In above condition, 29.08 mg/g of total flavonoids can be obtained .
