Title The study of Intra-sentential switching between English and Chinese Transference on the language level
Abstract3
Code-switching means a mixed code that contains at least two dialects or languages which are used alternately in a conversational context. It is the reflection of language integration, as well as the common phenomenon in the communication between cultures. This dissertation concentrates on the Intra-sentential switching between English and Chinese, relies on the materials(sentences that meet the requirements) collected from weibo , blog, post bar, forum and the switched sentences appeared in the press reports. Classified by part of speech, the analytical research bases on a mini-corpus whose outcome indicates that the Intra-sentential switching between English and Chinese is in fact a transference on the level of language. In the seven modes, syntactic transference and morphological transference are the most typical ones. From the perspective of framework, syntactic transference mainly studies the sentence structure of English and Chinese, concluding that the former one is closed, while the latter one is open, while morphological transference bases on the different grammar meaning between the two languages. The discovery and summary of the transference laws shows great significance in speeding up language exchange and fusion.
